Enigma: season 1 review

After an excellent premiere that convinced me that this series would be an absolute gem, the first season ended after only 4 episodes. As explained in my review of the first episode, the story is all about black magic, corrupt humans, and Ajin and Fa being total badasses!

I had planned to write this review right after the end of the finale but life ( and work ) happened and it took me a while. I think I can remember all the awesome stuff that I wanted to tell you, if not reminded me in the comments.

While those two are trying to find out who the real bad guy is they start spending more time together. A rumor about those two starts but Ajin and Fa convince everyone that in fact they are related and he is her uncle. Ajin gives lessons to Fa about the Magic World in order to be prepared when they find the person that Enigma uses as a weapon.

Fa figures out that Namsine is behind everything and tries to protect her, but it’s too late. Ajin assures Fa that he will do everything that he can to save her friend but things are worse than he thought. Enigma has already influenced way too much on her and it’s really difficult to find a way to bring her back.

Fa and Ajin are coming face to face with Enigma and they manage to possess him. He hunts down Fa who exorcised the Hell out of him and brings him back.

The two of them win against Enigma and save Namsine, who remembers everything and starts living a better life for herself. Ajin leaves the school and Fa goes to his place to throw him a “goodbye party”. She tells him that she loves him ( amen to that girl ) but is scared to return his feelings in order to keep her safe returns her to her room and disappears from her life. Some fans are not convinced that Ajin has feelings ( romantically ones ) for Fa but I believe that he is more in love with her and she is with him.

While we were ready to believe that the series came to an end the biggest plot twist came and let me tell you that the scream that left my mouth was way too loud ( lol ). Ajin, still looking for Enigma, gets in contact with a famous actress, having an “affair” with her, in order to find more information.

Right before the end, we finally see who the actual “big bad wolf” is and I could imagine a lot of things. But seeing Bright as a villain never crossed my mind!

Bright and Win have already played together in a lot of series such as “2gether”, “Still 2gether” and “F4 Thailand: Boys over flowers”, and they are really good friends in real life. Many fans want them to become a couple in Enigma as well, turning the show into a BL, having the enemies-to-lovers trope.

Personally, I don’t think that something like that will happen. IF we get a second season I believe that is more possible for Tul ( Bright ) to abduct or something like Fa, in order to have the upper hand on Ajin. But, if the other fans are right, it will still be interesting to see the story turning that way.

Tell me your opinion in the comments below. Did you like the series? Do you want a second season? Which person do you want to end up with Ajin?

It’s an 8.7/10 from me!
