Enigma: episode 1 review

I don’t do reviews per episode, usually, unless is about a series that is a total bomb and I have the need to talk about it to you guys. Enigma, seems to be one of these though!!

When the news about the series and cast dropped off I was really excited. I’m not a huge fan of thrillers but I really like Win and Prim. I first saw Win on 2gether but when he played on “F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers” and Prim was his love interest I adore those two together and I wanted more…

The story takes place in an all-girls boarding school in which Fa ( Prim ) is a student. When one of the teachers ends up in the hospital after the top student of Fa’s class attacked her, Mr. Ajin takes the biology class as a replacement. The student ends up in a mental health hospital and everyone blames her for a drug addiction, except Fa.

A few days later, another incident takes place, this time with the student who has second place in Fa’s class, and this time this girl ends up dead. Fa takes things into her own hands and starts to investigate what may happen. The top suspect in her list? Mr. Ajin of course, who not only pretends to be a clumsy person but she knows that he lies, but she has evidence that had placed him with the victims.

SPOILERS AHEAD!

I was so damn sure that Ajin wasn’t the bad guy, at least that’s what he claims, and I’m so happy that he told the truth to Fa so early and will not be forced to see them pretend to each other or something. He definitely has a sweet spot for her, none touches someone that way without liking them, but I’m not sure if he has realized it yet.

We learned that he’s not from our world and he’s from a magical place somewhere “between” but we don’t know yet what he is exactly. I was shocked when he just announced to Fa that she has to stay at his place from now on in order to keep her safe because she’s a target, but I was more shocked when he told her that she will help him to find the bad guy.! Hmmm Ajin, I’m sure you could find other ways to keep her by your side and not put her in more danger, but… ok.

On this point, I’d like to say that Ajin is way too hot when he hunts the ghosts or whatever those things are and I’d like for Win to adopt his character’s style in real life as well.

The chemistry between Prim and Win didn’t disappoint me because is on top and I’m sure that in the next episodes will keep getting better! Both of them can act, and that’s a huge plus for the series and the director does a great job.

As I said in the begging of this post, I’m not a huge fan of thrillers but this series seems to be great and I got myself enjoying even the scary stuff that the first episode showed us.

I literally can’t wait to watch the rest of the series! I’m convinced that it will just get better!!

It’s a solid 8.5/10 from me!

Let me know what you think about the series premiere in the comments below.

Until the next time…

xx Marilita.
