I never thought in my life that I would be able to love two tv characters and their relationship so much. All begun back in 2011 when CW announced a new tv series, called Arrow. I knew the story, the Green Arrow is my favourite superhero after all.
Oliver Queen for five years lost in an island, Lian Yu, comes back alive but his loved ones’ lives aren’t the same anymore. On the comics, he is in love with Laurel Lance who in the future she became the Black Canary. When the show started, in 2012, the writers kept that concept and really worked hard to make Lauliver ( Laurel and Oliver ) work. The thing is that the two actors, Stephen Amell and Katie Cassidy, had zero chemistry and you can see that from the very first episode. I mean, they are both good actors, but it didn’t work between them… at all.
Even if I truly liked the show I was ready to stop watching it. The two of them couldn’t make me believe that they were in love and even if that wasn’t the main story, it bothered me. Way too much. I remember that I was watching the third episode of season one when Oliver went to the I.T department of his company to ask for help with a computer when he ( and we ) saw her. Felicity Smoak! A pure sunshine in a form of a genius nerd with glasses and blond hair, chewing on a pen.
That was the moment that I totally fell in love. I don’t know why or how. I didn’t even know that this new girl was actually a guest start just for one episode. But I did. And with me a huge amount of fans and the writers. Everyone loved Felicity and of course, Emily Bett Rickards, the actress who plays the role.
The writers saw the chemistry between the two from the very first moment and they brought Felicity back again, and again until at the episode fourteen of season one, became part of the Arrow team alongside with Oliver and John Diggle.
At first, they became friends. They learn to trust each other and asking for help when they need it. Even then though the sexual tension was there. You could see how Felicity looked at him and how worry he was when she was out on the field. And Felicity’s ability not having a filter before she talks is everyone’s one of our favourite things about her.
Oliver had a lot of women in his life the first two seasons. Laurel, her sister Sara, Laurel again, Helena, Isabel ( I never understand why her, but whatever ), Mckenna. When Felicity asked him “why her?” when he hooked up with Isabel he told her “because I can’t be with someone that I really care about.” I mean… really Oliver? REALLY? On the season two finale though, he had to full Slade that he wasn’t in love with Laurel but with Felicity. A tricky plan that it worked after all. But, as little stupid in love idiots that they are they let it pass.

After that, it wasn’t easy for Oliver to stop thinking of her and how his life could be if he was with her. On the premiere of season three, after Diggle gave him the required pep talk he finally asked her out!! Yes, people!! Oliver Queen asked Felicity Smoak on a date on episode one of season three and she said yes!

The date was pretty… awkward. Apparently, they hadn’t anything to say to each other because they already knew one another so well. Felicity said that he had seen him “… shirtless. Multiple times. Shirtless… all the time.” and Oliver let us know that he was remember everything from the first time that he met her. Even what colour her pen was.
– this is love bitch –
Of course, everything, after that went to Hell, with Felicity, end it up injured and Oliver believing that it was his fault he kissed her and that’s it… bye bye Olicity… ( huh not at all )

Then, we had a season full of a sad Oliver while Felicity trying to move on, end it up dating Ray Palmer, but that didn’t last a lot. On twenty episode of season three, Felicity and the others went to Nanda Parbat try to save Oliver from Ra’s Al Ghul but it was too late. Ra’s told her that he would let them meet for the last time and that she had to tell Oliver how much she loved him because she wouldn’t see him ever again… and that happened.

On season three finale, after Oliver killed Ra’s, he told her that he was choosing her and they left the town, happy and in love to go and find themselves.
Season four started with the both of them to have bought a house in a town, leaving like a normal couple and Felicity being CEO of Palmer Technologies.
They had a quite of few episodes like that, being in love, they got engaged on Christmas… and then someone attacked them, and Felicity took a bullet in her spine, end it up in a wheelchair but they didn’t break up. They were stronger together than ever. Until Felicity found out about Oliver’s son and broke up with him. Not because he had a son, but because he didn’t tell her when he had found it out. That day wasn’t only Oliver’s heart that broke.
The whole season five was a roller coaster. Felicity tried to move on again, this time with Billy, but as the first time, it didn’t work. When Prometheus make the Green Arrow believe that he had him, the guy that Oliver killed wasn’t “Prommy” but Billy. Felicity didn’t get mad. She knew that it wasn’t Oliver’s fault.
They tried, especially Felicity, to stay away from each other, but their love is so big and pure and true that they couldn’t make it. The “just in case” kiss that she gave him on the island before the explosions gave him strength but after Prometheus death, he doesn’t know if the love of his life is still alive.

I could keep on and on with all the “I love you”s and the fluffy scenes, the painful ones that they still make me cry but this article is already too big. I tried to tell you their story with “a few” words and I really hope that you’ll like it because truth be told, no one can explain OLICITY with a few words.
Tell me your thoughts about my article on the comments below or on my facebook page and also tell me why YOU love Olicity.
