Journey Journal

My UK vacation.

Tower Bridge

Hello there my little faces… I was wondering what article to write today and then, I figure that maybe would enjoy learning how was my trip to England a couple of months ago. Truth be told, I want it to write this post while I was there and I was planning to do it a daily post – like a journal – but I had a little free time so I didn’t. In this post, I will try to tell you the highlights of that trip. I hope that you’ll enjoy it.

I wanted it to visit England my whole life and when one of my closest friends moved to Cheltenham for work she invited me to spend my vacation there and I totally accepted. We arrived at Gatwick Airport early in the evening and we had time to relax and drink a cup of coffee ( we also watched a movie ) before we take the bus to Cheltenham.

We arrived home a couple minutes before 12pm and we went straight to bed. The next morning, we went for a walk in town and for the famous English breakfast that I loved! ( except the eggs. I like my eggs overcooked. )

English breakfast & lemonade.

The next day we visited another town called Tewkesbury. It was a cute little town with a small river and cozy little coffee stores that I had the best tea in my life.

A few days later we visited London. It was beautiful and loud and warm!!! Yes warm!! 26 degrees Celsius to be exact. We went to Harrods ( I bought a handbag ), Hyde Park, we visited Big Ben and we heard it while it rang twelve times. We took a breath outside of Buckingham Palace, and we had lunch under the London Eye.

After that, we visited Piccadilly Circus and of course King’s Cross Station. There we went to platform 9 and 3/4 and for shopping at the Harry Potter store ( where I bought a pen with the Gryffindor’s logo ).

The next days passed with walks at the park there, on Cheltenham, coffee dates with my friend when she wasn’t at work, exploring the town ( I got lost a couple of times, but all good ). Reading books, of course, we watched Wonder Woman at the cinema and I even wrote a post for this movie because it was so perfect… A couple of days later we visited another small town nearby called Gloucester. A perfect little town for shopping at the mall. We had lunch and spent our evening at a little cafe, drinking a cup of tea.

I spent my last weekend in the UK at my cousins’ house at Crowborough. The plan was to take the bus from Cheltenham to Victoria Station in London at 3pm and to be there to take another bus at 7pm. An accident on the road though was the reason to stuck there almost an hour. I lost my 7pm bus but the company booked me a train ticket. I found the Victoria Underground, I changed two lines and finally, I found the train station 10 minutes earlier. I had totally freaked out but I managed not to be lost and more important to be on time for my train.

My weekend was pretty awesome, with walks to the local park, coffee and small talk with my cousins at a cute restaurant/cafe at Royal Tunbridge Wells. We walked through the city and saw the famous royal wells.

On the last day fo my trip we visited Brighton. It was such a hot day that everyone was at the beach swimming, and making fun with friends and family. It’s a beautiful town, with great spots for coffee and food. Even I had almost three weeks in England I had my first taste Fish and Chips there!! The next morning they gave me a ride to the airport and I took the plane to Greece.

I know that wasn’t a great post or maybe no one cared how I spend my vacation, but I had a great time and I want to share it with you. I really hope that I will have the opportunity to visit the UK again and maybe go to more places next time. You can see more photos on my Instagram.

Leave a comment here or on my Facebook page and don’t forget to like this post if you enjoyed it. Until next time…
