Hello there my adorable little faces. Today I write about the third book of the series “Bloodlines” by Richelle Mead ( you can read the two previous here and here ). “The Indigo Spell” is as I said the third one of the series and is the one that has the biggest life choices for Sydney.

This post contains spoilers.

In this book, Sydney is very confused and angry with Adrian.  I mean, who gave him the right to kiss her and tells her that he’s in love with her? Who he thinks he is? Or that’s what she wants to think and not the way that his lips tasted or how her whole body was like catching fire… NO. That wasn’t what she was thinking… all the time. Truth be told, she had spent a lot of time with him and she had probably forgotten at some point how dangerous was he ( he is a Moroi after all, an alive vampire ) and just her body reacted that way because he was a really good looking guy. Nothing else.

In the meantime, Mrs. Terwilliger informs Sydney that a really dangerous witch – her sister Veronica – steals the powers and the youth of inexperienced witches and leaving them looking aged in a coma. Jackie ( Mrs. Terwilliger ) believes that Veronica will try to find Sydney as well and she has no choice but to learn how to use protective spells in order to stay safe. Adrian, knowing about Sydney having magic powers helps her in this process and together they try to inform other witches in the Los Angeles area.

Sonya’s wedding is in the corner thought and Syndey is forced to travel with Adrian to the location. There, except Sydney, two other Alchemists are invited. Donna Stanton, Sydney’s boss, and Ian Jansen who as it seems, his crush for Sydney has only grown. Adrian asks Sydney to dance with him ( shocking everyone ) and Sydney, not want to start an episode accepts. Together, after the dance, sneaking out in order for Sydney to do a spell and find Marcus Finch, an ex-Alchemist who she hopes to answer all her questions.

When Sydney returns to Palm Springs goes to find Marcus and he tells her that if she wants to break free from the Alchemists she has to do something for him. She has to steal a video that confirms that the Alchemists have secret meetings with the Warriors ( the vampire hunters ) and she uses Ian ( and magic ) to get it.

While she and Adrian continue the search for Veronica they have more victims, a member of Jackie’s Coven and a college student. Sydney’s feelings for Adrian grew day by day and after a really hot situation between them on a “spirit dream” that he created to keep her safe from Veronica, Sydney takes the decision to leave with Marcus and go to Mexico. Seal her tattoo and live as a fugitive with his team.

Adrian and Jill are trying to convince her to stay but Sydney is afraid about her feelings and Jill’s, because she can see everything that is going on between Sydney and Adrian. A few days before she leaves, the witch that is after her, tries to take Jackie’s powers and Sydney with Adrian and their Callistana ( a stoned demon looked like a small dragon that Sydney brought to life to keep her safe and he sees the two of them as his parents ) go to help her. Sydney manages to win, even if the witch made it escape, and she saved herself, Adrian and Jackie.

When she was ready to leave for Mexico, a new Dhampir comes to the school for more protection to Jill and Jill gives her a letter from Adrian that she didn’t find the strength to read. Not before her decision to stay at least. Marcus is really annoyed that she took a decision like that but she tells him that she is in love ( omg! ) and she wasn’t leaving. Adrian’s letter was just some numbers, GPS coordinates to be exact. Sydney went there and she finally admitted how much she loves him and they decided to be officially – in secret – together. While she also informed him that she named their Callistana Hopper. ( That little dude owns my heart )

Returning to her dorm, a huge surprise waits for Sydney. Her sister Zoe, as a new member of Alchemists, has been placed on her side to this mission. To help her and keep her company in order not have to spent her time with these “monsters”.

My thoughts.

I will not lie… I loved it! I mean, the magic, the #Sydrian horny situations, Sydney being a badass Alchemist/Witch and kicking ass with her magical powers… It was perfect. Because I know what is going on in the next books I will just say that I HATE ZOE SAGE WITH MY WHOLE HEART and I will leave you, decide if you’ll like her or not. I also dislike Marcus.!

Other than that, I’d like to see more of the other character as we used to in the first book but as the story keeps getting heavier is logical to focuses on the main characters, Sydney and Adrian, and I totally get it.

That was it from me… Let me know what you think about the post in the comments below or on my Facebook page. Also, if you like my posts just follow my blog through WordPress or your e-mail account ( you’ll find the following buttons on your right in this post ). Until next time…
