Hello there my adorable little faces. Today I will write about the second book of the book series “Bloodlines”, “The Golden Lily” by Richelle Mead.

This post contains spoilers.

After the events of the first book ( you can read about it here ) in which Sydney had to deal with Keith an Alchemist ( and her worse enemy ) who lost his way and ended up selling Vampire blood to a tattoo studio and Lee, a Moroi who was actually an ex Strigoi and he was murdering innocent girls in order to return to his monstrous previous self she thought that she will finally have a quiet time.

Now, her only worries were how on Earth she would manage to keep her new boyfriend, Brayden ( even if she isn’t sure if he actually is her boyfriend ) and of course to deal with her Historical teacher, Mrs.Terwilliger who wants to make her a full-time witch! Well, at least until someone tried to kill her Moroi friend Sonya Karp in front of her.

After that, she decided to take self-defense classes and Adrian goes with her for a while but soon enough he figures out that he can’t continue doing this leaving her really worried about his behavior. Doing a search she finds out that the whole “vampire hunters” thing that they thought was a lie is actually real while Sonya with Dimitri Belikov and Adrian trying to find a cure for Strigoi.

The “Vampire hunters” abduct Sonya and Sydney forced to asks help from Mrs.Terwilliger in order to find her. Mrs.Terwilliger letting her know that she is the one that has to do the spell and Sydney asks from Adrian to go with her. She manages to find out a clue and she talks with her friend Trey ( he’s a hunter as well ) to let her try to explain to them that Sonya isn’t a Strigoi anymore.

Trey informs her that his leaders will listen to her, but the meeting is unsuccessful and the moment that the hunters are ready to kill Sonya, Dimitri and a few other Dhampirs save both of them. Well, Sydney saved herself – and Adrian – to be exact, using magic… and finds out that Alchemists have told her a huge amount of lies.

Later, she remembers something important and asks Adrian to explain to her how he managed to drive his car, a car that Sydney is in love with, from the moment that he can’t and she was the one that was teaching him how to drive it. Adrian, with no option, tells her that he lied to her because it was the only way for her to be around him because he’s in love with her and he kisses her.!

My thoughts.

As I have said already to my post for the first book, this is my number one favorite Young Adult book series and #Sydrian is actually one of my favorite fictional couples, ever! I really liked the book ( even if it was the fifth time that I read it ) and for some reason, it was like I had never read it before. I maybe would like a little more scenes with Sydney and Adrian together, but it’s understandable not to have more since they just had started feeling things for each other. If I want to be fair, they had a lot and awesome scenes together ( but a fangirl I always want more ).

Let me know what you think about the post in the comments below or on my Facebook page. Also, if you like my posts just follow my blog through WordPress or your e-mail account ( you’ll find the following buttons on your right in this post ). Until next time…
