Hello there my adorable little faces. Today I will write about a movie I just watched and it’s not other than Netflix’s first Brazilian comedy “Modo Avião” ( English title: Airplane Mode ). As always, this post will not contain spoilers ( not any huge ones though ) so, feel free to read it.
The story.
Ana ( Larissa Manoela ) is a young talented young lady. She has studied fashion design and her dream was to become a great stylist one day. Dreams come and go tho and that’s what happened with Ana’s as well… She dropped her dream in order to become a famous social media influencer having a contract with a famous fashion brand.
But… her cell phone addiction became a huge problem. Unable to stop using it everywhere she has a car crash and her parents find an opportunity to help her. They give her the choice to go to prison… or to her grandpa’s, Germano ( Erasmo Carlos ), house where cell phone reception is not available. There, she will find people that they really care about her as like João ( André Luiz Frambach ) and his sisters and she will learn that the most beautiful moments of our life aren’t captioned on a selfie.
My opinion.
I think that the movie was fresh, funny and can give us food for thought if you pay attention. Our generation is completely dependent on our phones that sometimes we forget to lay them down and actually see around us. Call us addicts but that’s exactly what we are… so, put it down for a while, read a book or go for a walk. Stop checking it every five seconds when you’re out with your friends and just talk…
As I said, the movie is fresh and funny and I believe that you’ll really enjoy it. The cast does a really good job and you will not waste your time.
