Alice in Borderland: review season 2 ( no spoilers )

After an incredible first season that premiered two years ago, Alice in Borderland is back to remind us how much we love it.

After the events of the first season where our heroes “cleared” most of the games, they discover that in order to have a chance to go back they will have to play to the end.

Arisu and his friends embark on a journey from one end of Tokyo to the other to play with as many “pieces” of the deck as are left. Their goal is to win in every game to finally discover what is happening and how they ended up trapped in this world.

My opinion:

The second season didn’t have the frenzy of the first to be honest. It didn’t have as many games and the violence and deaths were somewhat toned down compared to the previous season. But personally, I think it was something that had to be done.

In this season we delved more into our heroes and who they were before they were trapped in the game. We learned more about them and what they are capable of doing in order to survive. I’ll just speak for myself and say that while I missed the suspense of the first season a bit, I liked that the pacing slowed down a bit so we could see a little more of the characters.

I loved the last two episodes and the ending left me completely satisfied! I really liked how they explained everything and didn’t leave any gaps in the story. The original idea was to follow the manga as faithfully as possible and for this reason, the series ended with its second season.

But the truth is, that they also left a window open for us… So, if they need to open it we could fall into the magical world of Borderland again.

It’s a 9/10 from me.
