Weekly Update: 4th week of September 2018

Hello – hello my little faces and have a lovely Sunday. I hope that you had an awesome week, that you are all well and happy and that you watched a lot of episodes… Season and series premieres are back after all. Let’s see what I watched this week.

THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS

Jessica Jones ( season 2 )
First of all, let me tell you that I watch the whole season in one day! I like it so much that I don’t know why took me so long to do it ( well, because you’re watching 100 other shows Marilita, that’s why ). Sure, it wasn’t perfect but for some reason, I found it really great. The main villain of the season was another person that was at the same lab with Jessica and has powers as well. This person wants to kill everyone that involve with Dr. Karl Malus, the doctor who did the experiments. Later in the season, we figure out that this person is Alisa Jones, Jessica’s mother who had survived the car crash as well. Her “problem” was that she was in love with Malus and in her mind she was protecting him. Her character was average, we didn’t saw evolvement through the season. She had a huge problem to control her anger and for 13 damn episodes, we keep seeing Jessica trying to help her. Another new character, who he’ll probably stick around for the next season as well, was Oscar Arocho. At first, he has a huge problem with Jessica leaving at the same building with him and his son, Vido, but after a while, they fall in love and we see Jessica wants to try to be with someone for a change. Trish and Malcolm, my otp from the show, started to have something but not at all something good. Trish through the whole season wants to acquire powers and finds an inhaler that makes her stronger. The only catch is that she became addicted to it and after that, she lost it! She quit her job, started fighting with Jessica, she even exploited Malcolm. I don’t want to believe that she hasn’t feelings for him but I think that she is too damaged to control everything ( let me blame her mother ). She even ended up being Malus guinea pig in order to take powers and guess what, she did ( hello there Hellcat ). Malcolm on the other hand really hurt from the way Jessica and Trish treated him, he went to work with Jessica’s biggest work enemy ( I don’t blame you my boy ). In the end, Trish killed Alisa and I have no idea where, how and if they will manage to leave all of that behind them any time soon.

Luke Cage ( season 2 )
It was the most boring thing that I’ve watched these days! Literally, 13 episodes that they had nothing to offer us. The plot was weak, the characters’ lines always the same and only a couple things made it kinda interesting. The only two things I liked was Misty’s “journey” after she lost her arm and Hernan’s character development. He is still a psycho but a really good written one. The whole season was “grey” with the only episode 10 to be a little lighter when Danny ( The Iron Fist ) made a guest. Also, the finale? I’m so disappointed with Luke.

The Gifted ( 2×01 ) ** season premiere **
They’re back! My beautiful mutants are back and what an episode! We had a time jump of 6 months so we had the chance to see Lorna’s adorable baby bump. Andy had a makeover ( and let me tell you that that white/blonde hair suits him greatly) and he is on Lorna and baby’s side from whatever they need. The Inner Circle’s leader, Reeva Payge, is 50 shades of creepy though. On the Mutant Underground now, Reed ( who started taking his powers back ) with Kate and the others keeping saving Mutants from Sentinel Services. Marcos is in a bad place after Lorna left and doing whatever it takes to find her. My beautiful #Thunderblink babies are more domestic than domestic. They’re leaving together, they have adopted Zingo, you know… our favourite dog, and apparently… Clarice loves seeing John doing the dishes ( if you know what I mean ). Lorna, after a few complications, managed to give birth to a healthy little girl ( welcome to the world, Dawn ).

This is us ( 3×01 ) ** season premiere **
The show that the whole damn world loves is back! The premiere was pretty nice. Happy stuff happened, Déjà accepted to be adopted by the Pearsons, Kevin is happy and in love with Beth’s cousin, Zoe ( even if Beth is against on this ) and Jack met THE girl! The flashback scenes of Jack and Rebecca were so beautiful and we will have more of them through the season ( who the hell was that guy in the end though? ). Kate and Toby’s decision to try to be parents brought me to tears, but I’m totally against Toby’s action to stop his pills for the depression. Yes, I know that with that they will have more chances but what’s the good in that if he loses himself in the process?

I also watched: Iron Fist ( 2×01 – 2×02 ), Chicago Fire ( 7×01 ), Chicago PD ( 6×01 ), Chicago MED ( 4×01 ), Revenge ( 1×01 – 1×04 ), Fear the walking dead ( 4×15 ), Hawaii five-O ( 9×01 ), MacGyver ( 3×01 ), A discovery of witches ( 1×03 ), Downton Abbey ( 1×01 – 1×02 ).
