Hello there my little faces and a happy new year! I wasn’t sure whether to post or not today, but I decided to start 2023 with something that I love doing and you know how much I love writing reviews. So, here we go…
Today I will talk to you about Wednesday, a Netflix original series. Wednesday is based on Addams Family and we literally follow the school life of the – everyone’s favorite – daughter of the family. After being expelled from a lot of schools just because of being her adorable psycho self, Morticia and Gomez send their daughter to Nevermore, the school that she never wanted to attend… but now, has no choice.
At first, Wednesday’s only goal is to find a way to get away from this school. She tries to not get attached to anyone there but her roommate, Enid, is always there, by her side. Slowly, starts to like the school and her schoolmates and starts having friends for the very first time.
Wednesday also starts a friendship with Tyler, the barista at her favorite cafe in town while Xavier, one of her schoolmates tries to become her friend as well. All that high school drama has to be on the side though when a monster starts killing people and Wednesday believes that she’s the only one who can stop it!
My opinion:
Truth be told, I started the series only because everyone had already watched it and I wanted to see why everyone liked it so much! But, let me tell you that I loved it!! I literally watched the whole season in 8 hours! I couldn’t stop watching it! The well-written script, the amazing cast, and the absolutely outstanding direction make Wednesday a top series to binge-watching!
Jenna Ortega killed it as Wednesday Addams and totally ruined the role for anyone ever who will want to do another adaptation since it will be really hard to find another girl to fit the character so well! I will not write any spoilers, since you know how much I hate them, but let me tell you just one little thing…
I totally ship Wednesday with Xavier! The bad guy didn’t take me by surprise because for some reason I figure them out from the moment that I saw them, but the series was so good written that I still enjoy it to the fullest.!
It’s a 8.5/10 from me.
Let me know what you think about the series in the comments below. Until the next time…
xx Marilita.
