Hey there little faces. I hope that you having an extremely great Monday and you’re already enjoying September. Today, I will talk to you about the movie that made me feel 16 years old again and it’s not other than “To the boys I’ve loved before.” Netflix again turned an ex Wattpad and now book into an awesome movie. But let’s talk about…
The story.
Lara Jean ( Lana Condor ), has loved five guys in her life and she has written to all of them about her feelings. Five boys, five love letters that she never send to them and she never will. When her oldest sister, Margot ( Janel Parrish ), goes to Scotland to study she decides that it’s time to broke up from her boyfriend and Lara Jean’s best friend, Josh ( Israel Broussard ). Now Lara Jean starts to have thoughts. BAD thoughts…! She was in love with Josh for so long… but she will never do that to her sister.!
When one day, the letters mysteriously find their way to their recipients one of them, Peter ( Noah Centineo ) has a really stupid idea. In order to make his ex-girlfriend and Lara Jean’s Nemesis, Gen ( Emilija Baranac ) jealous he suggests to Lara Jean to pretend that they’re dating and she has only one choice if she wants to avoid Josh. To say yes to this idiotic plan. They can’t tell to no one about their plan though. Not to Chris ( Madeleine Arthur ), Lara Jean’s best friend nor to Kitty ( Anna Cathcart ) her little sister… to no one!!
My thoughts and some spoilers.
That was one of the cutest movies that I watched this summer. Condor and Centineo had great chemistry and the fact that Peter’s character is way more than cute made this movie one of my new favourite things to watch. The movie was really sweet and smart. For a moment I really feared that Lara Jean will end up with Josh and I was scared of this thought.
One of my favourite scenes was when we saw Peter and Lara Jean’s first kiss when they were ten ( or something ) and she had totally freaked out while he was like Christmas had come earlier this year. My poor little in love idiot. The love notes were way too cute for me to handle it but the selfies were those that they broke me. I’m a hopeless romantic people, sue me.
Again, the movie was really cute and I totally recommend it if you are in on rom-coms. You will have a great time, trust me.
