Hello, my little faces. Today I will write about a tv series that started airing earlier this year. I’m talking about my new favorite crime series, “Prodigal Son”. If you follow my blog for a while you may notice that I love a good crime series. Prodigal son is one of them!
THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS.
Dr. Martin Whitly ( Michael Sheen ) lives a perfect life with his wife Jessica ( Bellamy Young ) and their two kids. He is one of the most respected surgeons in the country until everything collapses like a deck of cards. His son Malcolm finds out one of his victims and calls the police.
Twenty years later, Martin’s son has changed his last name to Malcolm Bright ( Tom Payne ) in order for people not to can make the connection with the serial killer known as “The Surgeon” and he works as a profiler on the FBI. An incident though on a crime scene leads him to dismissal until the cop that he had gone to his house to arrest his dad, Gil Arroyo ( Lou Diamond Phillips ), asks his help and Bright starts working as a consultant with Gil’s team.
The other team members have some second thoughts about their new co-worker until Bright decides to tell them the truth about his dad. JT Tarmel ( Frank Harts ) is not so sure that Bright is a good guy at first but Dani Powell ( Aurora Perrineau ) and Dr. Edrisa Tanaka ( Keiko Agena ) think that everyone deserves the benefit of a doubt.
Everything seems to be normal until Bright needs to talk to his father for a new serial killer that they’re trying to catch, with Ainsley ( Halston Sage ), a reporter on the local news and Malcolm’s sister, wants to set up an interview with “The Surgeon”.
The show is really nice and we see how Malcolm tries to fight his fears still now, after all these years and how the people around him react to his unusual methods and practices. He still tries to find that victim that he had seen that night and as the episodes go by we see that he has a memory gap. He has no idea how big this gap is and most importantly… he has no idea what his father made him do or don’t this period of time that he has forgotten.
