TV JUNKIE

Only Friends: review

This show was a total mess!.. A hot one, but a mess… and I’m not saying that as a bad thing, maybe. But, let me explain.

The story follows the lives of four friends, who decide to open a hostel in order to simulate their thesis at the university. Ray, Mew, Boston and Namchueam start their business plan believing that everything will go smoothly. The thing is though that when emotions get in line everything gets messy.

Let’s see if we will be able to make any sense about the couples lol. Sand likes Ray, who loves Mew, who has decided to stay focused on his studies until he meets Top. Top is Boston’s huge crush but Nick likes Boston who seems to change partners every night. The only person who has really settled down is Namchueam with April, her girlfriend.

As already said the show is a huge mess. But in a kinda good way. If you like messy things at least. For me, it wasn’t my ideal type of series but I enjoyed it to the fullest. The plot stops there, we just see them trying to figure out who they truly love and what the decisions will make in order to keep the person that they love close to them.

I will not gonna lie, I totally started it for Sand and Ray, since First and Khaotung are two of my favorite actors in Thailand right now. I loved them in “The Eclipse” and I’m willing to watch anything that they will give me with those two. In the end, I didn’t love the series and I will probably not watch it again but I liked it enough to tell you that you have to watch it as well.

The series dealt with some serious issues, and maybe some of them didn’t handle it as well as I expected them to do, but most of the time the situations and the results of the decisions that the characters made were really close to reality. Many times we had to make some decisions and they cost us everything that we loved, or they made us realize how wrong some things, or people were for us. That, we are able to see it in the series as well.

Definitely, it’s not a masterpiece and we have watched much better series but as I said, it’s worth watching it.

It’s a 7.5/10 from me. Let me know what you think about the series in the comments below.

Until next time…

xx Marilita.
