TV JUNKIE

My lovely liar: review

Kim So-Hyun is the first Korean actress that I saw on a show and since then is one of my favorites. That’s one of the reasons that I started watching this series at first but the plot made me stay.

The story follows Sol-Hee who has the ability to know when someone is lying or not. Growing up, Sol-Hee had zero friends because she couldn’t trust anyone. In need of money, she starts a business in which she gets paid in order to find out if her clients’s people are lying to them.

When Do-Ha her mysterious new neighbor starts living in the apartment next door, things start getting weird. Sol-Hee determined to find out why he’s hiding found out that he is the famous songwriter and composer Kim Do-Ha.

The two of them start hanging out and develop feelings for one another but when the truth about Do-Ha comes into the light their little bubble is ready to burst.

Everyone still believes that he killed his girlfriend a few years back and when new pieces of evidence are found and the case opens again he insists that he is innocent. Will So-Hee listens the truth though? And what she will do if he is a liar?

The series is nice with beautiful characters and secondary plots that manage to make the audience avoid getting bored. The huge plot twist on which was the murder and why he did it left me with my mouth open because I was totally blind and hadn’t figured it out sooner.

I really liked how they wrote the main characters’s love story and the way that their relationship developed. Sometimes some scenes I found them a little bit odd or unnecessary but nothing too big to make me wanna stop watching it.

The cast did a great job and everyone was really on point on how they played their characters. The only thing that maybe left me unpleased was the fact that we saw only a little bit of Syaon and Jong-Woo’s story ( and I really would like to see them on another series together ).

It’s a 7.5/10 from me and if rom-coms with a little mystery are what you like to watch I think you’ll enjoy this series.

Let me know what you think about the series in the comments below.

Until next time…

xx Marilita.
