Hello – hello, my little faces. I hope that you are all good. This time, I will talk to you about Motherland: Fort Salem, a TV series about witches in the modern era. The story takes place in a parallel universe of ours in which witches during the Witch Hunt fought back and made a deal with governments. They stopped hunting them down, and witches became the biggest weapon against any threat. Most of the time, this threat is the terrorist organization “The Spree”. They are witches as well, but they never forgave humans for the massacres of their ancestors, and they terrorize them at any chance.

Our main focus on the show is on the military female academy for witches, the Fort Salem, and specifically on three of the academy’s students and how they deal with daily military routine, their relationships with friends/family/love interests, and their journey to find their true selves. The main trio, Raelle ( Taylor Hickson ), Tally ( Jessica Sutton ), and Abigail ( Ashley Nicole Williams ), have great chemistry, and they manage to bring the show successfully to a close. For a couple of episodes, the series lost its way, making the audience start worrying, but soon enough this stopped and came back strong as before.

The special effects on the show were minimal, probably because of the low budget that they may have had, but those they used were decent enough, and they didn’t look fake. Some things maybe could be more interesting if they had written them a little bit differently, but generally, the first season was pretty good.
It’s 7.8/10 ⭐️ from me.
