Hello there my adorable little faces. Today, I decided it was time to talk to you about one of my favorite kdramas. Extraordinary You is a Korean production of 2019. At first, it will seem very strange but in the process, everything comes in line and without even realizing it you will understand what is happening immediately! Let’s take things from the beginning though.

The main protagonist is Eun Dan Oh, a student in a private school, rich and madly in love with her classmate Baek Kyung, who – however -, does not seem to have the same feelings for her. Eun Dan Oh has it all… except for her health. She suffers from a very serious heart condition and if a donor is not found soon, things do not seem ideal for the young girl.

Everything seems to go smoothly in her daily life but that’s going to change when she discovers that she is actually a comic book character! And in fact, she is not even the protagonist. She’s just an “extra”.

In her quest to change the ending of the comic, she finds an ally in the face of Haru, her mysterious classmate, but the more they try the more complicated things get. When she discovers that she has to choose between her own existence or Haru’s, the solution is only one.

The series is quite clever as a plot and the direction was quite good. The performances of the young actors were very dignified and the necessary chemistry between Kim Hye-Yoon who plays Eun Dan Oh and Rowoon who plays Haru is excellent.

Fun fact: Rowoon is a member of the well-known kpop group “SF9”.
