Hello there little faces. Today, we’ll talk about Netflix’s Emily in Paris. A series that some love and some others hate.

In season 1, we see Emily a young woman who works in a marketing company. Her boss, tells her that she needs to go to Paris in order to “teach” the employees of their new company the “American way”. She decides to travel to Paris, living behind her family, friends and her boyfriend to live for a year in her dream city.
There, she meets Gabriel the beautiful ( and hot ) neighbor of hers and immediately their chemistry is strong. Her co-workers seem to hate her and when everything goes to hell, Emily finds her guardian angel… Mindy.

One more person that she meets and becomes her friend as well is Camille, the sweet Camille who apparently… is Gabriel’s girlfriend. Emily tries to avoid him in order to not betray her friend but when the couple breaks up she can’t control her feelings anymore.
Now, in season 2… Emily tries to avoid Gabriel again when Camille tells her that she is still in love with him. Mindy tries to help Emily while at the same she tries to build a new career in the drag club that she’s singing.

Sylvie, Luc and Julien ( Emily’s co-workers ) start to feel her closer to them and Emily continues to bring huge clients to the company. Meanwhile, she meets Alfie and Gabriel feels jealous. Madeline goes to Paris and Sylvie feels that this is an attack and tries to find a way out.
Emily tries her best to bring back together Gabriel and Camille at the same time that Mindy becomes a member of a band and falls in love with one of the members ( my poor heart wasn’t ready… those two were adorable ).

Sylvie and the others tell Madeline that they’re quitting their jobs and they ask Emily to join them in Sylvie’s new marketing company. Emily and Mindy have a heart-to-heart conversation and Emily realizes that she’s in love with Gabriel and goes to talk to him, only to find out that he and Camille were back together.
My thoughts:
While the show could be a great opportunity to welcome us to a side of Paris and France culture that never we had the chance to see on a series before it didn’t happen. The series is full of bad cliches and awful stereotypes that make the show just a bad production.
Of course, the outdoor places are beautiful, the outfits are incredible and the cast does a great job with the script that they have but that’s all.
It’s a 7/10 from me.
The series has 2 seasons with 10 episodes each. Every episode is 30mins long and it’s available on Netflix. The series has not been renewed yet for a third season.
Let me know what you think about the post in the comments below. Until next time…
xx Marilita.
Your rating is possibly the highest I’ve ever seen of the show. All I see is negative publicity on this, and I’ve never watched it. Lily Collins looks great, though.
The series could be better, but I had a nice time watching both of the seasons. Also, I really liked Mindy’s role.
