Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle ( 2025 ) – review

Hello – hello!!

First of all, I’d like to gimme a break if you read this review, because I went to watch the Demon Slayer movie at the cinema last night just because my friend asked me. She didn’t want to go alone and I was like, “yeah, sure… why not?” Now, I personally I enjoy watching anime, I have watched a few of my own, but I’m not a huge anime fan ( just because I read a lot of books and I have no time lol ). So forgive my ignorance on the plot and the characters, but WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT???

Leave now if you haven’t watched it because SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I mean, I went prepared to have a nice evening and I ended up crying my eyes out about the freaking villain who was fighting my freasly new favorite character!

The first thing that I noticed the moment the movie started was how great the graphics were. I’m not gonna lie, at first I was completely lost about what on Earth I was watching, but the creators gave a nice amount of time on each battle, and even people like me who didn’t know the plot were able to follow what’s going on.

First of all, can we please talk about how good villain Doma is? Because I wanted to kick that little psycho in his ass! He’s totally delulu about truly believing that he helps people by eating them, my boy.. sit down, we need to talk… I appreciated that they have made him a bad guy just because he was born like that! Thank you, for that! His battle scene with Shinobu was the most beautiful scene in a movie that I have seen for a while.! I almost had a heart attack every time that she wasn’t manage to kill the bastard! ( I’d like to say a huge “I’m sorry” to the girl who was sitting next to me the moment I yelled “Die already” and scared the hell out of her. ) Letting us know that he had actually killed Shinobu’s sister, this scene made so much sense to me, knowing nothing about the plot. I could relate to her and feel her rage, pain and need to take revenge! I was rooting for her, so I felt so bad that he actually won and he literally absorbed her ( I will continue to believe that she’ll destroy him from inside until the moment I am proved wrong, or not ).

The other major battle was between Tanjiro ( the main character according to my friend ), Giyu and Akaza. ( takes a big breath ) I AM IN LOVE WITH GIYU.
So, now that we’ve cleared this up, let’s talk about how much Akaza got on my nerves for the majority of the movie. That bastard was – if I understood correctly – one of the most powerful Demons. He literally has the ability to sense when someone is attacking him and be able to block his enemies. My poor boys – Tanjiro and Giyu – were trying their best to kill him, but they got their asses kicked. I’m not gonna lie, I was afraid that we’ll lose one of them during this battle… And the moment that was completely mad and hating Akaza with my whole heart, they gave us his freaking backstory. Because what do you mean that he was a completely sweetheart who was only trying to help his dad, he lost him… Then he found another family, a father figure, the love of his life… only to lose them because some cowards poisoned them instead of fighting like men.????

When I’m saying to you, that I was bawling my eyes out crying is true. I couldn’t stop crying, mascara and all ruined, about a guy that moments ago I was praying to cut his head again, because that asshole was growing his freaking head back, letting the other two with zero chances to win. My heart totally broke the moment he realized that the only person he actually wanted to kill was himself, and he reunited with his family. ( My friend later informed me that his girlfriend actually followed him in Hell, and I realized that I was crying too much because I hadn’t even seen the freaking fire around them. )

Zenitsu’s battle with Kaigaku was also a huge yes from me! I liked that we saw two characters that grew up ( I think ) together, learning how to fight from the same person, being enemies. I mean, it was pretty obvious that Kaigaku will lose, just because every time that jealousy is the main reason for someone to make bad choices, you know that this person is actually weak. Zenitsu literally overcharged like a freaking Pikachu ( sorry about that, but that scene reminded me of the iconic Pikachu’s battle ) and roasted him alive.

Unfortunately, we didn’t see a lot of the main villain, Muzan, so I can’t tell you my opinion on him… but I will be able to talk more when I actually start watching the anime ( because let’s face it, I will ). We were also able to see some other characters in smaller scenes, but unfortunately, I’m not able to tell more about them because I don’t remember their names, and we didn’t see a lot of them to understand their stories. I’ll just say that I like the little demon that works as a doctor and a slayer who was protecting him during a scene. And I’d protect them with my life.

I don’t even know if my review makes any sense or if I missed something important, but yeah… That’s how someone having zero idea what’s going on watched the movie. It was a beautifully made one, and the soundtrack was amazing. I will hate my friend for a while because she’s the reason I’m a mess for an anime character but…

The movie is an 8.5/10 from me.
