At a Distance, Spring Is Green: review ( no spoilers )

Hello – hello my little faces. “At a Distance, Spring Is Green” is a South Korean production of 2021. It is based on the webtoon with the same title and in the leading roles we see Park Ji-hoon, Kang Min-ah and Bae In-hyuk.

The series is about a group of students and how their lives differ from person to person.

In particular, the main character of the series is a freshman student at Myeongil University, Yeo Jun. Popular, beautiful and very rich, he has all his classmates at his feet. But still, that does not fill him. It gives everyone fake smiles to hide how much it hurts.

In one of the courses he has chosen, he meets third-year-old student Nam Soo-hyun, who comes from a very poor family and tries to survive by taking care not only of himself but also of his family. The two will develop a brotherly relationship that will play a crucial role in their lives.

However, in the same class is attended third-year student Kim So-bin is considered by everyone to be distant and “average” in everything. Jun, who tries to approach her in every way, does not believe the same. He likes her and he is not ashamed to show it.

When their teacher assigns a group project to the class, the three of them will have no choice but to work together.

My thoughts:

The series is quite well-written with beautiful interpretations. The evolution of the story takes place smoothly without leaving gaps or question marks while the messages it wants to pass are clear. Domestic violence, lack of self-confidence, studying difficulties, exploitation and the constant struggle to find out who you really are.

The series consists of 12 one-hour episodes.

It’s an 8.1/10 from me.
