Hello Hello,
As you may remember from my last post, my current obsession is the “Game Changers” book series. After a great start with the beautifully written “Game Changer“, Rachel returns with the second book of the series. The one and only, “Heated Rivalry”.
Okay, truth be told, I knew what was happening because I had already watched the TV series adaptation… but, did it make me want to wanna stay home all day and read it? Yes, it did. But let’s take it from the start.
The story follows Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander. The two most talented ice hockey players of their generation. People love seeing them on the ice, not only because they play exceptional hockey, but because they hate each other, and the show is incredible. They always played for rival teams and it’s a universal knowledge that things got heated when they play against each other.
Something that no one knows though is that they don’t actually hate each other. You don’t want to have sex with your enemy on every possible opportunity. Right? These two have this relationship or whatever that is, for years…
This loop has been going on for years, as I already told you, until Shane has an accident and they realise that they love each other. Now, they have to deal with their own feelings, with the terrifying possibility that the other person may not feel the same way. Plus, they can’t come out to anyone, so… this, if this is a thing, may stay a secret for as long as they play hockey. Because no ice hockey player has ever come out before… Well, at least, not until Scott Hunter did it. ( My favorite boy!! )
My thoughts:

WHAT A BOOK! I mean, it’s way smutter than the first one, so maybe some of you are not up for that, but if you are, you’re gonna experience a freaking roller coaster of emotions. Rachel did an excellent job.
Her writing is raw, beautiful, full of emotions and it manages to make you feel everything alongside with Ilya and Shane. I wasn’t expecting to like it so much but here I am, crying because they said “I love you” to each other.
The book is a clear 4.8/5 stars for me.
Let me know what you think about the book in the comments below. Also, don’t forget to subscribe to never miss an update from us!
And let’s not forget to give all our love to Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie, who played Shane and Ilya, because… What the Hell guys? They were perfect!
P.S I’ll see you all at the cottage.

Well said!!! 🤧
Awww thank you 😊 🥹
