Hello hello!!!,
I hope everyone is fine, healthy and happy because I currently am not fine… Okay, I’m probably overreacting a little bit, but hear me out. I decided to read the book series “Game Changers” by Rachel Reid ( because I watched “Heated Rivalry” and it shook my soul, but we’ll talk about that in another post ) and let me tell you that I don’t know what she put in these books, but I can’t stop reading!
Today, we’ll talk about the first book in the series, “Game Changer”. In this book, we see Scott Hunter, who has it all. A successful ice hockey career, money, fame and a beautiful house. The only thing he lacks is someone to share all of these with. That changes the moment he meets Kip though, the hot guy he makes his new favorite smoothie.
Scott wants Kip, badly… But no one knows that he is gay, and no one can know because he will probably lose it all. When Kip agrees to a secret relationship, Scott can’t be happier because he really likes Kip.
Although Kip also likes Scott, a lot! , he isn’t used to keeping his true self hidden and while Scott is overwhelmed with the playoffs approaching, Kip doesn’t know how long he will be able to continue lie to everyone.
My thoughts:

I absolutely loved Scott and Kip, Scott a little bit more though. Reid did an excellent job creating their characters. The path that they both had to follow in order to find themselves and each other was painful and beautiful and I enjoyed every single moment reading it.
I adore Scott Hunter with my whole heart and it was the first fictional character who made me cry after a long time!! ( The speech at the end destroyed me. ) I liked that even when they had a hard time, at the end they talked and figured everything out together.
A round of applause to Scott’s friends ( I love all of you ) for their support and Ilya Rozanov… just because he exists. I can’t wait to read about his story next and I already know that I will adore it ( remember that I already liked the series?? yeah… ).
The book is a clear 4.5/5 stars for me.
Let me know what you think about the book in the comments below. Also, don’t forget to subscribe to never miss an update from us!
Special thank yous to François Arnaud and Robbie GK, who played Scott and Kip at Heated Rivalry, because they did an incredible job.
