Hello hello!!

I’m back with another review, this time for one of my personal favorite Netflix series, Alice in Borderland. Based on a manga and after two incredible seasons ( you can read my reviews here: season 1, season 2 ), with the first one being my favorite… This masterpiece came back, and it was worth the wait!

The third season starts with Arisu and Usagi married, happy, and adorably in love. After winning the games and coming back, some of them have no memories of the Borderland, but others do. Professor Ryuji, who believes in the afterlife – and in the between -, tries to figure out what really happened to them and so many having the same memories.

At the same time, Banda wants to take revenge on Arisu for winning the games. When Usagi goes missing, Arisu believes that Ryuji is responsible and tries to find him. The police find both of them, Usagi and Ryuji, in a coma, and Banda informs Arisu that she’s back in Borderland. Now Arisu has to ask Ann’s help, who remembers everything, to return to Borderland and save his wife and their unborn child.

My opinion:

Unfortunately, the old cast, except Arisu, Usagi, Ann, and some small cameos, weren’t back… but it makes sense. All the others are not dying… so, they can’t go to Borderland, plus, as already told you, the majority of them don’t remember what happened. Even if I missed my boy, Chishiya, the new cast was incredible as well, with Rei being my new favorite.

The games were absolutely amazing, even if on a couple of them, they could give us more details about the game or how they solved it ( yes, I’m talking about the train scene, in which Usagi’s team was struggling to stay alive, while Arisu’s was all calm… I mean, c o m e o n! ). A huge plus, at least for me, was that the whole third season had the same vibe as the first one. This season had two episodes fewer than the two previous, but I think it worked nicely.

I loved the filmography and the special effects, and the graphics. The brutality of the games was back, again reminding me of the first season. Maybe I’d like to see one or two more games, but at the end of the day, I loved the series the same.

I really disliked Ryuji’s character and not because he had a crush on Usagi ( I mean, who can blame the guy? ). He was selfish and completely lost in his world, trying to find a way to find, or whatever, his dead student, since the moment she died. And I know that maybe some of you will think, “He was guilty… She died because she chose to take part in that experiment.” Well, I believe that he had managed to manipulate her so much that the poor girl died for his delusional ideas, agreeing to take part in a trial that had zero present chances to work. The guy was delulu and she was his victim.

NOW!! Guys!! What kind of ending was that? I mean, are they gonna give us a new spin-off based on USA, or will they just leave it as an open ending that the story continues that way? I need answers ( and your thoughts!! ). Would you like the series to take this turn and continue that way? Would you watch it? Or do you believe that it’s time for Alice to come to an end?

I think that I’d give it a shot if they keep the same creators. But I’m afraid that it will not work the same way.

Anyway, the third season was an 8.5/10 from me.
