Alice In Borderland: season 1 review ( no spoilers )

Hello little faces. Today will talk about the Japanese series Alice In Borderland, which is based on the manga of the same title, and premiered on Thursday, December 10, 2020 on Netflix. The series is referred to as a Sci-Fi fantasy thriller, and it really is what it promises! A series with infinite action, blood, and time limits that will excite you!

The story begins when Arisu, who has dropped out of college and plays online games all day, is trapped with his friends, Chota and Karube, in a Tokyo where everyone ( well, almost everyone ) has disappeared. But it is not long before they discover that they are not completely alone. In fact, they are trapped in this “real game” where every track is “Live or Die” since not everyone manages to survive. The three of them will try to survive in every way, like all the other players. Their purpose, among other things, is to find out what “Return to the Beach” means.

An important role in the story, however, is played by other characters who appear in the series either as main ones, such as Yuzuha Usagi, or we make a prayer to TV Gods to see them as much as possible. Yes, Chishiya, this is for you. ( Okay, I’m overreacting. He plays a lot. ) Also, Kuina, Niragi, and Hatter are some of the characters we will meet as the episodes go by.

When I watched the trailer, I thought that the series would have an interesting plot if they had handled it correctly! So I decided to watch it, and it was 10 times better than I had imagined. It has well-written characters, whether they are good or bad, a fast plot, each “game” is more imaginative and wilder than the previous one, and you will not get bored for a moment. It’s one “game” per episode, in which players will try to win to get the prize, while there are not many CGI scenes in the series, making it look even more real.

Personally, my favorite character became Chishiya, and because I promised no spoilers, I will only say that he is very smart!

The first season has 8 episodes and it’s available on Netflix.

Netflix announced a second season for the series!
