Weekly Update 2024: week 15

Hello – hello!!

Guess what’s back! Mine and your favorite posts from the past have returned! It took me only a few years to bring them back but they’re finally here. If you’re new to the blog let me introduce the “Weekly Updates” to you.

Every week, from Sunday to Saturday, Utaku and I will monitor the shows we watch and write a small summary about the episodes that we loved ( or not ). The “Weekly Update” posts will be posted every Sunday and we’d love it if you love them as you did in the past and be active in the comments letting us know if you agree or not with us, or introducing us to new shows to watch.

Just before we start, let me remind you that these posts will be full of spoilers, so if you don’t wanna know what’s going on on these shows please leave now and return when you’ve watched the episodes. If you have no problem with spoilers, and maybe you even love them you’re welcome to stay and enjoy this post.

THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS!!!

Pixie’s series:

  • LOVELY RUNNER ( 1×01 – 1xo2 )

When I watched the trailer, my first thought was “what’s going on with the time travel series this year?… let’s watch it.!” Truth be told, the story caught my attention but I was more willing to watch it because I really like Kim HyeYoon as an actress. She plays Sol, a young passionate woman in her thirties who after a horrible accident she can’t walk. She tries every day to stay strong and the person who gives her that strength is her favorite singer SunJae ( Byeon WooSeok ), a member of the band “Eclipse”. On a concert day of Eclipse, Sol even if she was ready to attend the show, she had to leave and ended up being late and wasn’t able to get inside the stadium.

Returning home her wheelchair broke down and she meets SunJae by accident, who offers her to bring her home. Sol, happy as ever returns home after that meeting with her favorite idol but she wakes up in the middle of the night from the news of SunJae being in the hospital. Desperate to go find him and see if he’s doing ok she loses his watch ( which she owns – she bought years ago ) and tries to find it. The moment that she sees in the news that he died she presses the button on the watch and returns to 2008, just a few days before her accident. Now Sol tries to do everything she can to protect SunJae from everything that may cause him to want to kill himself.

As the second episode goes by we see some really funny scenes between the two, some emotional ones and the second lead introduces himself to us. I like that every time she tries to tell something that hasn’t happened yet times frozes. It’s something unique and funny at the same time. But let’s be real here. The thing that I liked most, is that SunJae knew her when they were students and she had no idea! He even liked her but he never talked to her properly and now they have the chance to rewrite their story. I have so many questions though… Did he call her on purpose while she was at the hospital? Did he remember who she was when he saw her on the bridge? WAS IT HIS FAULT THAT SHE COULDN’T WALK AND THAT’S WHY HE KILLED HIMSELF??? I need answers people!! ( ok, that was way too long but I had to talk about two episodes lol ).

  • 23.5 ( 1×06 )

Finally, Sun figured out that Ongsa is Earth! I was waiting for this moment and they didn’t disappoint me! I liked the whole situation, how Aylin and Luna tried to help Ongsa tell her the truth but in the end, Sun found it out by herself. The way that Sun took a moment to think about what happened and maybe why Ongsa kept her from her the truth was fresh to watch. We are used to watching different reactions in other shows and seeing how mature Sun is made me realize that I like it! They even managed to solve the whole problem in one episode so we don’t have to watch unnecessary drama. God bless you, writers.

Something else I liked was how Ongsa’s family tried to support her when she was sad. Also, can we talk about how adorable Aylin and Luna are together? I mean, what on earth is going on? Their story is well written and the girls do a great job portraying their characters.

ps: Utaku will join me on the next post.

Let us know if you watched any of these shows and your opinion about them or if you watched anything else and you want to talk about it.
