Tomorrow is a South Korean production of 2022 with fantastic elements. Starring Kim Hee-seon, Rowoon, Lee Soo-hyuk and Ji-On Yoon.

The story is about a special group in the afterlife. Goo Ryeon and Lim Ryung-gu are Grim Reapers who belong to the RM team. This group is responsible for preventing suicide. They try in every possible way to prevent mortals from committing suicide.

When during one of their missions they meet Choi Joon-woong by chance, everything goes, “wrong”. Joon-woong tries to save the same man as the Reapers, but he is injured and falls into a coma in this attempt.

He is offered to work for the RM team and wake up earlier from the coma, which he accepts for the good of his family.

As I mentioned in the review of the series premiere, Tomorrow touches on some taboo topics for South Korea. School bullying and depression are just a few of them. With a huge percentage of daily suicides, South Korea is at the top of the world’s number of suicides.

The series manages to touch on all issues with respect and understanding while bringing to light some dark spots in the history of the country, thus wanting to remind those who know it, but also to teach those who do not that the truth will still shine. and if only one knows it.

My thoughts:

After an amazing premiere, my expectations were very high and the series, fortunately, did not disappoint me for a minute. It managed to delve into the stories of all her main characters, answering all our questions about who each of them really was.

The cast performances were excellent and the script did not lack the comic moments that managed to lighten the heavy atmosphere of the series a bit. Beautiful directing and lots of outdoor filming with the cast running, literally, all over Seoul completed this series beautifully.

Although fans around the world loved the series for how “true” it was, the same did not happen in Korea where the series made small numbers of viewers in relation to expectations. The Koreans may not even be ready to face the harsh reality. Or maybe they knew her again and the series reminded them so much that it was hard for them to watch it.

Anyway, the series was amazing in my humble opinion, but… Make sure you are in the right mental state before watching the series.
