So, last night was a movie night ( I also had pizza but this could stay between you and me ) and I finally watched the new Lara Croft movie. Long story short, it was good. Watch the trailer here.

First of all, let me tell you that I am not a gamer so I have no idea how the game is. I have only watched the two movies with Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft; a ) Lara Croft: Tomb Raider ( 2001 ) and b) Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life ( 2003 ) and I remember that I had enjoyed them so I decided to watch this one as well.

I really like it though. Lara ( Alicia Vikander ) did a great job. This version of Lara ( I think ) is younger than Angelina’s and she isn’t so strong and powerful at the begging. This is not an issue though. The moment that she found out where her dad had gone the last time that they saw him alive packed her things and travelled to the other side of the world to find him. She isn’t alone on this journey. Lara pays Lu Ren ( Daniel Wu ), a drunken guy with a boat to help go to the same island as her father. Lu agrees, not only for the money but because he wants to find his father as well, as he was Lara’s father’s guide seven years ago and they both missing since then.

The moment that their ship arrives at the island, huge waves sink the ship and Lara wakes up in a tent with the company of Mathias Vogel ( Walton Goggins ). Vogel works for the Trinity, the secret organization that Richard Croft ( Dominic West ) had warned his daughter about. Now he has Richard’s notes and Trinity is one step closer to find the tomb of Himiko and to rule the world.

It’s up to Lara, Lu and her dad, who he is still alive, to find a way to stop Vogel and the Trinity. Will they save the world?
