Hey there little faces. How are you? Today I will talk you about a teen movie that I watched last night… Yeah – yeah I’m 27 years old but everyone has their guilty pleasures… right? Watch the trailer here.
The kissing booth is an original movie by Netflix. Before that though was a book written by Beth Reekles and before that was a Wattpad book by the same author. ( For those who not know, Wattpad is a platform that people from around the world can write and post their original stories or fanfics… 50 shades of Gray, for example, it was on Wattpad first. ) The story is cheesy, totally awkward and cute af. ( that means “as fuck” btw )
Shelly “Elle” Evans ( Joey King ) and Lee Flynn ( Joel Courtney ) not only were born at the same day and time, not only grow up as “twin best friends” but their mothers were besties as well. The two of them do everything together. But to be sure that their friendship will last forever they made a list. Through the years Elle and Lee were able to stay loyal to those rules, even if number 9 bothered Elle.
You see, this rule was that they didn’t allow to be in a relationship with a relative of the other. Something that was totally cool, until Elle started having a crush on Noah Flynn ( Jacob Elordi ), Lee’s older brother. The thing that Noah was there when someone bothered Elle to fight for her made it even harder. Until she decided to go out with someone else and she found out something about Noah that made her furious.!
When finally the school carnival arrives and Elle finds herself on the position of the Kissing Booth, everything goes to Hell when Noah kisses her. Now she has to find out if he truly likes her or if she is one more girl that Flynn made out with. How she can tell her best friend that she has feelings for his brother? And if Noah has the same feelings as she? Then what?? Lee would be really mad.
Well, I will not tell you what happened ( duh ) but if you watch it, tell me if you like it in the comments below or on my facebook page. It was a really nice movie and I will definitely watch it again. I already put the book to my “to read it list” and I hope that I will have the time to read it soon. Until next time…
xx Marilita.
