Hello – hello there my adorable little faces. How are you this fine day? Are you ready for the new blog post? Let’s begin…
First of all, I wanna thank my dear friend Evi from Series Division and her latest youtube video ( it’s in greek but give her a view people ) about the movie. Before I watch her video I wasn’t sure that I want to watch the movie… Don’t mind me, I love the golden trio of the movie ( Hugh Jackman, Zendaya and Zac Efron ) but I thought that it wasn’t a “serious movie” and I wasn’t in a mood to watch something shallow. Evi’s video convinced me that it was worth my time and guess what… IT WAS!!
Mini spoilers ahead.
The movie follows the life of a young, poor boy, Phineas Barnum ( Hugh Jackman ). Phineas was in love his whole life with the beautiful and rich Charity ( Michelle Williams ) and his dream was that someday he will be able to give her the life that she deserved. Her dream was that she could be with the man that she loves. Their both dreams eventually became true. First, they became family and a few years later he had the craziest idea. He gathered people that everyone thought of them as freaks and build the most incredible show! A circus that the public could go and have fun and a family for those people.
But like everyone else, Phineas got blind from the money and the fame and he almost betrayed those people that became his family. The result was to lose everything and everyone until he started to do the hardest thing that a man can do. Asking for forgiveness from the people that they really mattered to him… his family and his true friends, the people from the circus.
The movie was beyond than great. It was so touching and inspiring… My favourite characters though were Phillip Carlyle ( Zac Efron ) and Anne Wheeler ( Zendaya ). Their story was so touching and true that they made me cry not only in one scene but two! The first one, when they are at the theatre and they sing to each other my favourite song from the movie, Rewrite the stars, and the second one when he is at the hospital and Anne sings to him their song ( bring me some damn tissues ). The whole cast was incredible though and they did a great job!
I really enjoyed the movie. Have you watched it yet? Did you like it or not? Will you want to watch it now that I told you some stuff about it?? You can watch the trailer here. Tell me your thoughts in the comments below or on my facebook page. Until next time…
