Hello – hello my little faces. How are you this fine Saturday? Today I decided to write about a mini tv series called Strike. It’s on the BBC one and it’s an English production. The series is based on Robert Galbraith‘s ( this is J.K. Rowling’s alias ) books, The cuckoo’s calling, The silkworm and Carrer of evil.
The story follows Cormoran Strike ( Tom Burke ), an ex-military that after he lost his leg in the field came back home. His leg isn’t the only thing that he lost though. His marriage was dissolved and he had no job until he became a private investigator.
On the first three episodes, we see the story of the murder of Lula Landry one of the most beautiful and famous models in the world. We meet Cormoran‘s new assistant, Robin Ellacott ( Holliday Grainger ) who finds a way to make herself useful and indispensable to her boss. Those three episodes are based on the first book, “The cuckoo’s calling” and I like them better than the following two.
The other two episodes that they have aired are based on the second book of the series, “The silkworm”. Cormoran and Robin‘s new case is about the disappearance of notorious writer Owen Quine. His wife, Leonora Quine, has no idea where her husband might be and Strike is her last hope to find him.
The next episodes, based on the third book, “Carrer of evil”, will be airing sometime in 2018 and I can’t wait to watch them. Tom Burke is a great actor and the stories that Rowling wrote are so awesome and exciting. Crime, mystery, drama, humour and of course a pinch of romance are the ingredients of those stories. I hadn’t the chance to read the books yet, but they are the next ones that I have planned to.
Now, let’s talk a little about romance. I know that from the first moment that Robin will meet Cormoran you will start shipping them like no tomorrow and start googling details… When they will kiss for the first time? Will they spent more time together out of the office?… ( and other stuff that I will not write just in case some kid reading this post. ) BUT, I want you to be strong…! My dear readers, my adorable innocent little faces… Robin is engaged and the lucky guy isn’t our pretty boy Cormoran… Your next questions would be “WHAT??? Do we hate him? Is he a douchebag? When they will break up so our ship will be together?” The only thing that I can say is that yes, you can hate him. No one likes him after all…
You know what? It’s Saturday and we are so close to Christmas so I will tell you something more… Have faith people! Cormoran and Robin have so much chemistry that they can not deny it… They care for each other and they would do anything for each other. Plus, Cormoran my friend… we can see what you’re doing here and we approve…

That was my post for today. I hope you like it and let’s pray that the series will return soon. ( Let me know if you know when will be back. ) Don’t forget to let me know your thoughts about my post and the series on the comments below or on my facebook page. Until next time…
xx Marilita.
