Hello there my beautiful little faces. Today I will talk you about a movie!! Rubinrot ( English title; Ruby Red ) is based on the first book of the Rubinrot Trilogy by Kerstin Gier. It’s a German production but you can also find it compiled in English ( I think that it’s not available with subs ). You can watch the English trailer here.
Gwendolyn Shepherd is more than ordinary. Clumsy and always on her cousin’s, Charlotte Montrose, shadow Gwen is the least favourite person in her family. You see, Montrose family is a very important one. They carry the time-travellers gene and everyone believes that Charlotte is the chosen one, aka the Ruby. The twelveth gem that will close the circle. She trains for that her whole life alongside with Gideon de Villiers, the Diamond, until everything turns around when Gwen travels back in time and she realises that she is the one with the gene.
Now she has to work side by side with the arrogant Gideon so she can control her power. She relies on their secret order so she can be safe when she is going back in the past and they need her so they can finish their mission, to collect the blood from all the others in the past with the same ability as hers and Gideon’s.
Gwen has to figure out who she can trust. Count Saint-Germain, the leader of the order, who lives in the past wants from them to finish the mission by any cost and Gideon is willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen. Lucy Montrose and Paul de Villiers who betrayed the Count and the order insist that the Count is a monster who wants to close the circle with everyone’s blood so he can rule the world. Now Gwen with her best friend’s, Leslie, help has to find out who is the liar and who tells the truth.
Will she find a way to stop the villain(s) or she will lose her life in the process? Can she trust Gideon to have her back on those missions in the past or he will not accept her as his partner after he lost Charlotte who learned to trust all those years?
It’s difficult to let yourself fall in love with someone. It’s really difficult to fall in love when you’re a teenager. It’s more difficult to fall in love with someone that clearly hates you… but most of that, it’s difficult to fall in love with someone that you can’t be sure that you can trust. Will Gwen manage to get out of these in one piece?
Tell me in the comments below, or on my facebook page, if you have read the books, watched the movies ( or both ) and what you think about the Rubinrot. Did you like it or not? If this is the first time that you hear about this series, did I managed to make you want to read/watch it? Come on, let me know… Until next time…
xx Marilita.
