Hello there my adorable little faces. It’s time for another kdrama review. I’m maybe new to the Korean-drama’s world but I’m doing my best to catch up, watching episodes unstoppable one after the other. ( lol )
Today, I will write about “Romance is a bonus book” ( original title: Romaenseuneun Byulchaekboorok ). As I already said, it’s a 2019 Korean production.
When the 37 years old Kang Dan-yi ( Nayoung Lee ) gets a divorce after 12 years of marriage, she has to find a job in order to provide for herself and her daughter. Unfortunately, no-one offers her a job after 12 years that she had stopped to raise her daughter and desperate, with no home and zero income secretly stays at her best friend’s house, until to find another solution.
Her best friend, who has no idea about Dan-yi’s situation, Cha Eun-ho ( Jong-Suk Lee ) is a famous writer and the founding member of a publishing house. She randomly finds a document at his place from a boarding meeting in which they had decided to hire a few people with no degree or professional experience and she sends an application telling them that she has no degree ( even if she actually has more than one ).
The CEO moved by her answers decides to hire her and when Cha Eun-ho finds out what’s really going on has an agreement with Dan-yi to not tell anyone that they know each other for almost 20 years, in order to avoid wrongfully gossips.
A really truly sweet love story, full of passion for what someone wants for how their lives to be. How someone can lose or gain something in one night and how your dreams may become true without even noticing at first.
The show has one season with 16 episodes and it’s available on Netflix. From me, it’s a 7.8/10 ⭐️
