Hello there my adorable little faces. Today, I will talk to you about “Robin Hood”. A story that we have seen ( and read ) too many times with too many twists but with always one detail that never changes. The thief who steals from the rich and he gives them to the poor.

The story.

Well, do I have truly write this down? I mean, everyone knows Robin of Loxley and his men… but ok… I will tell you what’s going on on this version of the story. Robin ( Taron Egerton ) madly and truly in love with Marian ( Eve Hewson ) plans to marry her and live with her to his mansion, doing nothing all day. ( He’s a lord – a rich one – after all. ) His plans are interrupted by the Sheriff of Nottingham ( Ben Mendelsohn ) himself though when he orders Robin to join his fellow English people on the Crusades.

Four years later and when Robin tried to save a young Arab his commander sent him back to England. When Robin arrives in his country finds out that everyone believes that he is dead for two years now, his mansion and all his wealth are gone and the love of his life is with another man, some guy named Will Scarlet ( Jamie Dorman ).

He’s ready to give up when the father of the Arab boy that he tried to save arrives with a plan. Yahya ( but apparently we can call him John ) tells him his plan, on how they gonna destroy the corrupt Sheriff but steal all the gold that he takes from the people.

My thoughts and some mini spoilers.

First of all, I wanna tell you that I enjoyed the movie. It was a nice one to pass my time and not regret it but… I didn’t like it that they made it kinda modern. I mean, while the battle chorographies were awesome, the costume department lost it.

Men’s clothes were like nowadays suits and the dresses that the women wear were way too modern ( when they didn’t wear pants, something that women back in these days… THEY DIDN’T WEAR ). Something else that it was out of place was that made Marian live on the same place with Will, something totally modern life. Don’t get me wrong, I am not some modest girl that don’t wear pants or will not live at the same house with her boyfriend before marriage… but when the story took place things like this weren’t even possible to think about them, let alone for someone to do them.

Other than that “small” details the movie was pretty awesome with the main cast doing a great job with their characters.
