One Chicago, is actually the four – at the moment – shows about Chicago’s Fire department ( Firehouse 51 ), PD department ( 21st District ), MED ( Gaffney Chicago Medical Center ) and Justice ( Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office ).

Truth be told, I wanted to start watching MED, when I found out that Colin Donnell will be a leader actor on the show. I found out that it was a spin off though so asked around. People told me that it would be better to watch all the shows and started from the begging because the amount of crossovers was insane. And they had so much right. People “pop up” on the shows all the time and it’s the best thing EVER!!

Let’s start from the begging though. Chicago Fire aired on 2012 and it’s on its 5th season.

We follow the lives of the firefighters, paramedics and rescue squad of Firehouse 51. I have to admit that in the begging I thought that it would be boring or to be exact – I would be bored – but I couldn’t be more wrong! I started watching it and I was so into it that even my sister who doesn’t watch too many shows watched some episodes with me and she liked it.
On its second season we have our first official crossover with Fire’s episode be the part 1.

Chicago PD aired two years later, on 2014 and it’s on its 4th season.

On the first spin off we follow the lives of uniformed patrol officers and detectives of 21st District. On this show I had a feeling that I would love it because I’m really into the crime series. I love watching shows like this one and I really believed that I like it… and I was right. I started watching the first season before Fire’s crossover because PD’s episode 1×12 is the part 2.

Chicago MED aired on 2015 and it’s on its 2nd season.

This is the second spin off based on One Chicago universe. We follow the lives of doctors and nurses of Gaffney Chicago Medical Center. I had finally the chance to see the show that I wanted from the start. I wasn’t sure that I would like it though. The truth is that when I was in the high school I was really close to choose to become a nurce. When I realized that I hadn’t the guts to do it, I change on 360 degrees and studied telecommunication and networks. – no one could die on me on this department, right? – The truth is, that I loved the show.

Chicago Justice aired on 2017 and it’s on its 1st season. ( Update: The series has been canceled )

When last year the network ( NBC ) announced one more spin off I almost throw a party. I was sure that I’d love it, like all the others. On this brand new spin off we follow the lives of prosecutors and investigators Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. I really enjoy the whole thing with the courts and law facts. – I’m a nerd, sue me – 

Tip: Before you start watching the shows, it would be better if you do a research on who and how many the crossovers are, and on how to watch it too. If you don’t do that it’s really possible to not be able to understand some things. If you have a shows calendar you don’t need to do anything because the calendat itself “marks” the crossovers with a number next to the episode, letting you know what part is. ( number of the current episode | episode’s name ( number of the crossover ) … ) I’m using tv calendar and it’s really helpful not only for the crossover but on all the shows that I’m watching.
