Linger by Maggie Stiefvater

Hello there my lovely little faces. Last September I wrote a blog post about Shiver ( read here ) by Maggie Stiefvater. It took me a while but today I am ready to post my article about the second book of the trilogy. Are you ready? Let’s do this…

IF YOU DON’T LIKE SPOILERS PLEASE LEAVE THIS POST ( and come back when you’re having read the book ).

On the second book of the trilogy of “The Wolves of Mercy Falls”, Sam and Grace’s lives flowing smoothly after Sam cured of being a werewolf. Everything changes though when Grace starting feels weird. The wolf inside her starts to wake up and she is more scared than ever. Her denial and fear of what’s going on make her to not tell about it on Sam.

The virus isn’t the only enemy of their relationship. Grace’s parents forbidden to their daughter to have any contacts with Sam. The virus wins day by day and the only two people who can help them are the beautiful but stubborn Isabel and Cole, the new werewolf that Beck transformed. The only thing that Cole wants is to lose himself on his wolf side but something ( or maybe someone? ) holds him back.

Some things that adored:

  • At first, in the first book, I wasn’t sure if I love or hate Isabel’s character. She’s cocky, she cares only about herself and her brother. She will never tell you something that you want to hear just because you want it… she will tell you the truth and it’s not her problem if this truth will hurt you or not. In the second book, we have the chance to read through her point of view and this made me understand that I didn’t love her but I didn’t hate her either. I worshipped her with not even know it. She is my favourite character from these books and I will fight anyone that has a different opinion for my queen.
  • Something else that I totally loved was the building up that Maggie made for Isabel and Cole’s relationship. It’s not perfect and definitely not an actual relationship ( or that’s what they think ). They fight a lot, they kiss a lot, they telling truths to each other that no one else knows about them… ( that’s what an OTP* looks like people ). I really can’t wait to read the third ( and fourth ) book so I can find out what their story would look like.

♥ Maggie made me love the supporting characters more than the main ones ( something that I do often if I want to be honest ) and I will be forever grateful for this.

* OTP = One True Pairing

Tell me what you think about the book or/and my post and leave your comment below, or on my facebook page. Until next time…

xx Marilita.
