Today, I will talk to you about another brand-new kdrama. With the series finished only 3 days ago, it is still fresh and you have to watch it asap, if you haven’t already done that.
Lee Hong Jo works as a civil servant and every day has to deal with a serious amount of complaints from the citizens. Losing her parents at a young age, she feels alone most of the time and the fact that her co-workers don’t like her doesn’t help her situation. When she meets Jang Shin Yu a cold-hearted lawyer through a complaint that she has to investigate, everything changes.
Shin Yu, is young, successful, good-looking and rich… something that helps a lot in making him really popular among his co-workers. But not everything is perfect in Shin Yu’s life. Troubled by an ancient curse that has troubled his family for generations, he tries to find a cure for this illness before it’s too late for him.
When a powerful spell book comes into Hong Jo’s hands and she is the only one who can cast the spells, Shin Yu asks for her help.
BEWARE OF SPOILERS.
Hong Jo, helps indeed Shin Yu and thinks that their interaction will finally come to an end… when something unexpected happens. Hong Jo, having a huge crush on Mr. Kwon casts a love potion in order to make him fall in love with her, but the one who ends up drinking it is Shin Yu.
Now, the two of them have to team up in order to find a way to break the love spell. Shin Yu who knows about everything is aware that he has no real feelings for her but he is not able to stay away from her. At the same time, Hong Jo, who also dislikes him has no other option by to let him be around her… until they find a solution to this problem.
Of course, their problems don’t stop there. Someone starts stalking Hong Jo and tries to cast black magic on her and Shin Yu in order to harm them.
My opinion:
The series wasn’t something that we never had watched before, but is worth watching anyway. Rowoon and Bo Ah’s chemistry was pretty awesome and Rowoon’s acting ( for me at least ) was great. He did an amazing job. The story had some plot twists that make you wanna know what will happen ( even if – let’s be clear – we already know ) and we even have to deal with some “past life” situations that I personally adore on a series.
If I want to be honest, some of the support characters were really annoying but I’m willing to let it pass because they gave me Lee Tae Ri who plays Kim Wook, Shin Yu’s best friend, and I was waiting for those two to start together on another project since “Extraordinary You”. ( You can call me biased )
Of course, the series has a happy ending and consists of 16 episodes.
It’s a 8/10 from me and I totally recommend it for binge-watching. Let me know what you think in the comments below.
Until next time…
