THIS POST CONTAINS MINOR SPOILERS
After a great first book ( Hush, Hush ) Fitzpatrick returns with the second book of the series. At first, I wasn’t so sure about this one but let me tell you that I loved it!
The story continues right after the events of the first book and we see Nora attends the summer school in the same class with Marcie, her mortal enemy.! She tries to avoid Marcie’s annoying character and at the same time, Nora has to deal with more important things.
Patch, her boyfriend/fallen angel acts weirdly and even tries to avoid her, something that makes Nora worry about the stability of their relationship. Meanwhile, her best friend, Vee, starts dating Rixon. Her mother on the other side tries to keep her away from Patch and the perfect opportunity comes on the way when Nora’s childhood friend, Scott, returns to the town.
Nora and Patch break up while Scott looks more dangerous than everyone thought. With the “Black Hand” on his tail, Scott can trust no one and when Nora tries to figure out what’s going on maybe will find more than she was ready about.
This time, someone wants to kill Nora ( again ) and no one could imagine who the bad guy was!!
HUGE SPOILERS AHEAD. BE WARE!!!
Ok, maybe I have read/watch too many books/series/movies but the moment that we started having Rixon’s character on the spot out of the blue I knew that it won’t end up well. I won’t believe that he was the bad guy because I liked Rixon and I liked him with Vee… but, the writer had other plans.
I liked Scott’s character even if it makes you wonder if you can trust him for almost the entire book… and also, I kinda liked Marcie’s character. Not in an “I like her – like her” way but more like, I know that she’s a total bitch and she doesn’t even care. Fitzpatrick managed to create a good nemesis for our main lead.
I have to tell you that Nora being Hank’s daughter was a nice plot twist and one that totally makes sense. And the reason why Marcie was always so mean to her. I know – I know that doesn’t testify her actions but let’s not forget that they’re teenagers and when we are young things look different for some of us.
In conclusion, personally believe that the second book is a good sequel to the first one! Tell me what you think about the post in the comments below. Have you read the book? Until next time…
xx Marilita.
