Hello again, our lovely readers! Today, I’m very excited, because the series which we’ll discuss I would say it’s a masterpiece in many ways and totally worth your time. It’s very difficult for me to write anything for this drama, because I just wanna shout to you “GO WATCH IT NOW!”, but I’m not here for this, so here we go.
“3 Nen A Gumi: Ima kara Mina-san wa, Hitojichi Desu”, is a Jdrama with a unique plot. As the title points it itself, it’s about a teacher, Hiragi (Suda Masaki), who decides to keep an entire class as hostages, locked up in the classroom, 10 days before their graduation. He is determined not to let anybody graduate, until he gives them a last and very valuable lesson. A few months before, a classmate of them passed away and they have to find the truth behind her death. But, the question lies, what truth will they really find? About their former classmate, about this crazy teacher of them, about society or even about themselves?
This series, is a puzzle game. Every episode is a question that needs to be answered. But, if you think the answers are the obvious ones, you’re mistaken. Piece by piece, you collect all the fragments that lead to the truth. Step by step, the story unfolds and points to the right direction. Every episode, becomes a new lesson, that makes you want to take a moment to reflect and self-criticism.
If someone is at fault, are you really sure that YOU are completely innocent?
And as Hiragi always says… “Let’s think!”
Let’s think before we act.
Let’s think, how easily we trust anything we watch without proof.
Let’s think before we judge someone and “cancel” them.
Let’s think before we press “enter”.
Let’s think how our actions reflect to other people, even if they don’t know us.
This jdrama gives hope to everyone and the really good production and great acting from Suda Masaki, the children and all the side characters gives us a bonus reason to watch it. They surely gave their all. I’m feeling so grateful that I came across it. I’m looking forward for the upcoming Thai adaption called “Homeroom”, staring Mew Suppasit. I’m really curious to see if it is going to be as crazy as the original one (is this even possible?), or perhaps softer. Maybe I’ll come back then.
As always, I ’ll be glad to read your opinion.
Until next time, let’s think…
Thanks for reading,
Utaku.
