Based on the movie with the same title, Twelve Monkeys, this series premiered on Syfy on 2015 and changed my life. Before the series, I knew about the movie but never watched it. Now, I will just wait for the series to end – probably season 4, airing on 2018, will be the last one – and then I will do it. Truth be told, I started watching it last summer, right after season 2’s premiere and I totally fall in love. With the cast and the story and the characters’ storylines, with everything actually.
Tv series follows some people on 2043 that they trying to return back in 2016 and found out who and why started a deathly virus that almost eliminating mankind. James Cole has to go back in time, find out why Dr. Cassandra Railly is so value to the cause and more important who The Army of Twelve Monkeys are.
Creepy huh?? You have no idea!!! James Cole is an… well, asshole is the right word to describes him but he is an adorable and really good guy, asshole. Even if he believes otherwise for himself.
The whole “plan” falls apart though the moment that he sees Cassie, Dr Railly, for the first time and falls in love with her. His new plan is to save her, no matter what or how many times he has to go back in the past to make it. The relationship that they build is something new for the both of them and together trying to save the world and each other.
Probably in the first episodes, you will be a little bit lost with all the time jump and the continuous alternations between the present, future and past. But you’re not alone… Cole feels the same thing with you sometimes and he got your backs… – or we wish for him to had them. I love you, Cole 😭😭😭😍 –
The feels are real between Cassie and James and the damn slow burn will make you hate me, but at the end will all of you be happy more than you could expect.
Mini spoilers for season 3.
A couple of days ago the third season aired on Syfy on a three days event where we watch the 10 episodes of the season on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I don’t know what they did it like that but it was ok with me. It wasn’t the first series that I watched like that after all. Netflix air all the episodes from its series’ seasons all at once for example.
On this season we have to deal – finally – with the Witness and everyone tries to stop him with their own way. Two different fronts fight for him. The one wants him dead and the other one to find him and make him change his mind and to not unleash the virus.
The plot twist at the end of the season will leave you with your mouth open, a lot of missing heartbeats and tears in your eyes. Buy tissues, chocolates and a lot of vodkas. You’ll need them all.
