The Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore

Hello – hello!

It took me a while, but I’m back with another book review… and this time it’s a Christmas one! I’m talking, of course, about Laurie Gilmore’s book “The Christmas Tree Farm”, the third one in the “Dream Harbor” series ( You can read my reviews on the two previous here: “The Pumpkin Spice” and “The Cinnamon Bun Book Store” ).

Feeling fed up with everyone and everything, Kira makes a life-changing decision and buys a farm in Dream Harbor. A small town where apparently everyone likes to gossip and meet her… when the only thing that she wants is to make the old farm that she bought livable and learn how to make pickles.

Bennett’s plan was to spend the Holidays with his sister Jeanie and her fiancé, Logan. Finish some work and take long walks with his dogs at the abandoned tree farm, which apparently is not abandoned after all. Ben is a people’s pleaser kind of person and that’s how he ended up volunteering to go meet Kira North and help her run her tree farm, before she freezes to death.

My thoughts:

Okay, truth be told… It’s the second time that I’m reading this book this year. I really enjoyed it, both of the times, but it was a little slow at the beginning. In my opinion, it was the right way for Gilmore to tell this story though. Both the main characters were in need to be alone at first, before they could be with anyone else ( even if they didn’t manage to stay away for long ).

I enjoyed reading about them having fun but eventually falling in love and freak out. It was super mature of them to try to stay away from each other until to be sure that what they really wanted was each other.

It was nice that we saw the previous couples, even for a short time. The dogs were a nice note to the story and Edwin’s backstory ( Kira’s house’s old owner ) gave it that tiny Christmas magic that the story needed.

In conclusion, I liked it people! I like Gilmore’s writing and I find it nice and comforting.
It’s a 4.3/5 stars from me.

Don’t forget that “Dream Harbor” is an 18+ book series and spicy scenes are included in all its books.

Until next time…
