Unique plot
Thap and Intu are two completely different people. Thap is a doctor who doesn’t believe in prophecies or horoscopes, while Intu is a younger man known for his ability to see the future. Their two worlds collide when Thap’s family forces him to stay in an isolated village with Intu, to protect him from a bad prophecy about his future.
Slowly, we watch Thap and Intu grow and build a beautiful relationship. It’s fascinating to see how two different worlds and personalities can become a perfect match.
Back in their town, Thap’s friends – a police investigator and his two colleagues – are trying to solve the mystery and catch anyone who would want Thap dead.
As the plot unfolds, who the traitors are isn’t exactly a mystery to us; instead, it focuses on how to prove it, what their motives are, and how to catch them all.
There’s a bit of angst in some episodes, but I liked that the story emphasizes more on the plot and the relationships, than on unnecessary drama between the couple.
Well-Written Characters
I loved the emphasis on the characters and their development in this series.
Intu has only a few friends and finds it difficult to communicate with people due to his ability. He lives alone and feels quite lonely. He’s a man in his 20s, with all the fears and insecurities this age brings. It’s very interesting to watch him overcome his fears, find comfort, trust someone, and open up, but most importantly, believe in himself again.
Thap, on the other hand, is a doctor in his 30s. He may seem stubborn sometimes, but he’s mature and stable, and that’s what helped them create a beautiful relationship. He fell in love with the last person in this world he expected to, but in the end, he fully trusted him.
Two different people in many ways, yet they seem to share the same heart.
The main Couple
What can I say about this so realistic couple? There is a true bonding and development in Thap’s and Intu’s relationship and their progress as a couple is so heartwarming to watch. They both found a person who loves them for who they are and manage to trust them. In fact, their whole story is about trust.
And once again, let me fangirl for a moment about their chemistry! You can feel everything just by watching them. All the cute, jealous, or shy moments, the loving feeling, even how their breath stops at certain times. Their eyes are like fire. The smiles, the glances, it’s simply magical.
The Second Couple
Ton and Pong—a detective and a doctor—are old acquaintances who meet again after many years because of Thap’s case. What’s beautiful about them is that even when they don’t talk much, you can still see their feelings through their eyes. They’re so adorable and their chemistry is amazing. It feels like you’ve known them forever.
The second couple syndrome is very strong in this series, and I truly wish they had more screen time together.
The Messages
Another realistic thing about this series is the portrayal of family relationships. Thap didn’t have the best relationship with his father, but I liked how the series pointed out that parents are people too, they make mistakes, but it’s never too late to fix them and build a more stable relationship with their children.
I also believe that the core message of the series is that even if the past is painful, we must learn to let it go and say goodbye. It takes time to heal, but we must try to move forward while embracing the past, because it makes us who we are today.
Conclusion
My Magic Prophecy is the third series starring the JimmySea couple, and like with other famous pairs, one might expect to eventually get bored of them—or that not every series would be as engaging. But these two exceed my expectations every single time. Their unique choices of work constantly amaze me. This time too, the combination of a unique plot, character development, bonding, and love truly creates a magical feeling.
If you want to watch a cute slow-burn romance with a bit of angst and lots of lovely moments, this one’s for you!
